Costumes? Casino? Cold Beverages?

You know I'm in!

While at Wine Class (more on that some other time) last month, I was offered two tickets to the Treasure Valley Community College Sting Fundraiser. Basically, it is a 20's/prohibition themed casino party with a live auction, silent auction, games, raffles, and best of all - a costume competition! Obviously, we went.

Not sure what to expect, we decided it best to pre-funk the party with none other than my mom and Dan. I mean really, Chad and I learned all about these kinds of events in college and a good pre-funk can be the best part of the night!
Pre-Funk: (noun): an informal social gathering that takes place prior to the official ceremony, or social gathering, usually involving intoxicating activities and generally resulting in pre-function inebriation.
We showed up, ate, drank, played cards, visited with friends (old and new), and even competed in the costume contest. Chad and I placed fourth, however, I am pretty sure we should have placed higher - everyone said we were "too young" to win. Ha! We didn't win anything in the raffle, but we did end up buying a gift certificate to Andrew's Seed in the silent auction, which will definitely come in handy next spring.

It really was a great time, but more people need to come, so next year - grab your prohibition themed clothes and head to the Cultural Center for a great time and a great cause!
