Recently we got together to celebrate my brother (Greg) and his birthday. Mom whipped up several of his favorite dishes - as is tradition, including the chocolate cake with white icing. We ate, drank, played games, and I might have gotten little camera happy for a few minutes. Lucky for me I have three handsome nephews who are more than willing to pose for the camera!
Upon arrival, Peter helped me wrap Greg's presents and I can tell you that the tape dispenser will never be the same. In other news, Greg seemed to love his gifts which will all help him in his trip this summer to Africa with Chad, Toby, and my dad - they should have fun!Keeping in tune with the KKG traditions, I am going to introduce to you the "High/Low" game where I tell you about the highs and lows of the night. Ready? Ok.
Highs:
After finishing our meal, we ended up on the topic of blood pressure (more on that some other time) and we busted out a blood pressure monitor and everyone around the table had theirs taken. It was pretty entertaining to be quite honest and I totally won - mine was the highest. Wait, what? That isn't the way it is supposed to work? Matthew ran a few laps around the house before taking his and it was still like half of mine. Gotta love that family history of heart problems.
Lows:
Chad wasn't feeling that great - turns out he had strep throat. Yuck. He couldn't go to the doctor on Saturday because he had a double-header baseball game to coach but we went in first thing Sunday. The doctor wanted to write me a prescription too - I scoffed, as if I was going to be sick. I might have high blood pressure but I was not going to get sick. Knock on wood - I still haven't and he is on the road to recovery.
In other news...
I planted approximately 300 bulbs last fall in the front of our house and they are all coming up. I Have three daffodils in bloom right now and I love them. Thank goodness they came up or I would just have a bunch of dirt piles where they were supposed to be.
The people who came and looked at our house must have just wanted some fabulous decorating tips - like how to work around a pink bathroom, etc. because they bought a house down the street ... I think. Either way, they didn't make an offer on our house so we are still on this red hot market. Better get your offer in quick, it is going fast! Maybe? No.
The sun is shining and I am dying to get out of the office. It is supposed to rain again starting tomorrow and all I want to do is go play in the sunnnnnnnnnnnnn. Is that so much to ask? If everything goes smoothly, I'll be out of here in no time. But while I am here, I am watching this - and you should too. Before you "waste your time clicking on some *this* that could be anything" - it is a live cam on a bald eagle nest where three chicks are supposed to hatch anytime. Super cool and the birds are just gorgeous. Right now I am just one of over 108,000 viewers waiting for these babies to hatch. Check it out!

Pictures of party are great! You should have gotten the drugs from the
doctors for later, then you don't have another office call expense!
Thanks for the update
Love Bev
